Mike Donovan

Mike Donovan is an award-winning writer of 40 years experience who has authored a clutch of largely authorised sports books, The latest - and his favourite - is The Jimmy Greaves We Knew (with part of the royalties going to the Jimmy Greaves Foundation in support of the Stroke Association, Alcoholics Anonymous and Dogs Trust). Subjects of his many Tottenham Hotspur-related books include other playing legends Dave Mackay, Alan Gilzean, Terry Dyson and Darren Anderton, along with White Hart Lane (Glory, Glory Lane). Written tomes on Manchester United, Chelsea and QPR, plus tennis’ Andy Murray. A former Sports Editor, he has been a national tennis and boxing correspondent. Has promoted disability, women's and minority sports. Campaigned for better sports facilities and individuals. Crossed paths with the likes of Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Roger Federer, Fred Perry, Steve Redgrave and George Best. Worked on the ground-breaking Today newspaper, which introduced British newspapers to electronic production and contributes to a variety of newspapers, magazines and social media. A Londoner, he has a Facebook page entitled ‘Mick Donovan’. Loves football, music, walks, family and friends. Believes in peace, love and understanding.
