Jonathan Borden

Jonathan Borden lived and worked in Korea and China for four decades as a teacher and school administrator in international schools. He has a special interest in how culture affects education, and in particular how Confucian thought has affected East Asian education. Working with thousands of young people from both Chinese, Korean, and other East Asian backgrounds, he understands well the challenges and opportunities that may arise when children from Asian backgrounds attend Western style schools, and can offer practical suggestions on how teachers can bridge the cultural and educational gap. Dr. Borden and his Korean-born wife have presented workshops and at conferences on this topic in East Asia, Africa, and the United States. They live outside Savannah, Georgia in the United States.
