I have been an archaeologist and a teacher most of my life. I trained as a prehistorian and worked for a decade in southern Africa, then came home to England and continued here, first in the field and then teaching archaeology for eight years in Wiltshire. Since then I have worked at Stonehenge for many years: I am consequently reasonably well informed about the latest archaeological theories and discoveries relating to this iconic and still darkly mysterious site.

In my spare time I have worked as a potter, and assisted with the smelting of bronze and iron. I learned to use a proper bow as a boy, and revisited longbow archery for a while - until teaching took up all my archery time a few years ago.

I have published a number of academic papers and written various poems and short stories, but 'The Eye of Time' is my first novel. I do not expect it will be my last.
