John Deed

John Deed is from a village near Cambridge, England. He is a portrait and commercial photographer and also a publisher of poetry.

His first book “The A to Z of Country Limericks” was inspired by the enjoyment of telling stories to his children when they were growing up and is John’s first foray into publishing. This was co-authored with illustrator, Sean MacGarry. Sean is an architect who has also produced a wide variety of illustrations over the years, including a whole collection of colourful cartoon-like pictures.

John's second publication is a book entitled "Elemental Poems - Of Being. Of the Mind. Of the Heart.", featuring over 50 poems that are a personal journey of experience and observation. These poems ask a lot of questions and, hopefully, provide some answers, conveying mindful insight with strong feeling for the subjects covered. Poems of love, existentialism and of the darker side of the mind.

His third book, first published in 2024, is a collection of over 100 poems. Entitled "Poems of Substance For An Uncertain World" it tries to make sense of the somewhat broken world we live in. It is divided into 4 sections; dealing with the many facets of love, human nature, mental health and our existence/relationship with life on this planet.
