GD Dowey

Pastor Greg Dowey is the Founding and Senior Pastor at Fresh Church in Chapin, SC. His commitment to Christ, to Fresh Church, and to the Fresh Church family is undeniable. His heart’s desire is to see people come to salvation in Christ and grow to maturity in Him. Pastor Greg emphasizes the importance of studying and living by God's Word. His unique weekly messages are biblically-based, and always relevant.

Pastor Greg was born on the United States Naval Base in Puerto Rico and grew up in Columbia, SC. He has pastored in the state of South Carolina for nearly 30 years.

Pastor Greg completed his undergraduate study at the University of South Carolina. Along with receiving his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, he did additional post-graduate work at St. George’s College in Jerusalem. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry from North Greenville University.

He and his wife Missie live in Irmo and their son, Jack, lives in Birmingham, AL and is studying for a Masters in Education from The University of Southern California.

Pastor Greg is an avid reader and aspiring writer, having just published his fifth title. He enjoys sports and fitness, runs every day, and plays the occasional round of golf.

He and Missie are the founders of Simple Ministries, an international charity which provides bibles free of charge worldwide to people hungry for God's Word.
