Roger Killen

Roger Killen was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, attended Trinity College in Dublin and graduated with an honours degree in Business Studies and a single digit golf handicap in 1973. He immigrated to Canada in 1975 and worked as a salesman and product manager for Xerox Canada until 1979. Then came 30 years as a serial entrepreneur. The 12 businesses that Roger played a part in launching between 1980 and 2010 had great, good, bad and ugly outcomes.

In 2011 Roger cast about for a give-back project that would allow him to change the world. This casting about took him onto 2 “idea businesses” – Vancouver Business Network Meetup and TEDxStanleyPark. Vancouver Business Network is now the largest business organization on the west coast of North America and TEDxStanleyPark grew into one of the largest TEDx events prior to morphing into Get Inspired Talks Inc. to focus on making measurable action happen.

Roger’s legacy is to build a massive library of credible ideas that trigger change-makers to tackle humanity’s pressing problems. Roger’s top core value is reliability, his favourite colour is purple and he loves Japanese food.
