David Willcox has been running IT projects and programmes for over 35 years in the UK and internationally within Europe, USA, South Africa and Australia. After in-house PM roles he worked as a PM for an IT consultancy for 5 years before becoming a freelance Project Management consultant in 2006. Having successfully delivered projects across many different client organisations in the private and public sectors with varying degrees of formality and scale he developed an interest in mentoring the next generation of PMs and helped a number of budding individuals using analogies and proverbs to impart the learning. To help a wider audience he started a blog "Be a Better Sheepdog" in 2014 using a similar style. Now semi-retired he used the covid-19 lockdown to write this book, which is a practical guide to running projects using humour, analogies, proverbs and cartoons to help readers learn and remember the skills and techniques required to achieve success.
