Michael Babcock

Michael Babcock is an audio engineer, monitor engineer, author, and educator with more than 30 years of experience in professional audio and over 20 years of touring. Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of live sound roles, supporting productions ranging from local events to major touring acts.

Known as "The Monitor Guy," Michael focuses on making complex audio topics understandable through practical, real-world instruction. His Surviving the Hot Seat series uses plain language, real-world examples, and lessons learned from the field to help audio professionals develop the skills needed to succeed under pressure.

In addition to writing, Michael develops technical resources, checklists, and training materials for audio professionals through The Monitor Guy.
