Daniel is an art historian of the late Roman and early medieval Mediterranean world, as well as an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School, and B.A. in Religion and Classics from the University of Rochester, NY. He is the author of "Building the Body of Christ: Christian Art, Identity, and Community in Late Antique Italy" (Fortress Academic, 2020)
