Duane Murray

Duane Murray is a Ringo Award-nominated, award-winning author of the Top Shelf graphic novel Better Place and the Dark Horse comic Who Are The Power Pals? He graduated from York University’s Acting Conservatory and is an alumnus of both the National Screen Institute and TIFF Studio for writing and producing.

Duane has served as a script consultant for various companies and studios and has developed several screen adaptations, including for the international bestsellers The Last Rituals and Mythago Wood. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous productions, most notably as Hansi Kalkofen in the Academy Award-winning Best Picture Spotlight.

His work also appears in Scott Morse’s anthology This Ink Runs Cold, and his next graphic novel is slated for release in December 2026. He lives in Hamilton with his wife, daughter, and cat.
