Nipun Sadvilkar is an Associate Director of NLP & Data Science Division at Optum leading the team to build AI-driven next generation medical coding platform. He has first-hand experince building a Clinical NLP engine comprised of - NER, domain-specific rules based components, NLI modules - right from data annotation at scale to deploying to production. Earlier he was Machine Learning Engineer at Explosion building developer tools for AI and NLP. He has vast experience in building NLP solutions and web-based data science platforms in the area of healthcare, finance, media, and psychology. His interest lies at the intersection of Machine learning and Software engineering with a fair understanding of the business domain. Nipun is a member of PyCon India, PyDelhi, PyData Mumbai, SciPy India, and blogs regularly about Python and AI on his website. Nipun is the author of PySBD - an open-source python NLP library for sentence segmentation and pre-trained RoBERTa Marathi language model.
