Dan "Doc" Thomas

Dan 'Doc' Thomas is a writer and a voting member of the Author's Guild. He has two earned doctorates, a PhD and a D.Litt. While editing books for other authors, he was encouraged to start writing his own stories.

His real life adventures show up in his books. He has currently written The A.I. Wars; Fall Planet; Planet of Fear; Gods of War; and Battle for Fall Planet. He has also written the mystery thriller The Mystery of Haunted Mountain. His non fiction books include A Simple Wine and Food Pairing Guide for the Average Person. These books are action adventure, page turning sci-fi and thrillers.

Like his characters, he was a soldier and has a background in science. He has led an adventurous life, once meeting a brown bear face to face in the tall grass! He has jumped out of airplanes, climbed mountains, and hunted and fished from the fartherest point in America to Southeast Asia. He has slept, lying in the snow at -60F, while the Northern Lights blazed overhead, and stayed as a guest of Native Americans on the coast of the Bering Sea for two weeks at a time. Doc once spent the night in a haunted house and then found himself trapped by a major flood. You can read that tale in The Mystery of the Haunted Mountain.

Doc Thomas was influenced by such great writers as Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, Andre Norton, Robert A. Heinlein, James Fenimore Cooper, Louis L'Amour, Jack Schaefer, Charlotte Bronte, and Leo Tolstoy. Like them, his books are well researched. The science is accurate, being either current technology or current science theory. Like these writers, someone 13 or 14 years old to 100 years old will be able to read his books without worrying about the content. His books are fun and pure escapism.
