Christopher Hooten was born and raised in the Texas Hill Country. The Hill Country is the one of the largest cattle-raising areas in the State of Texas. Chris’s grandfather and great uncles participated in the cattle-drives of the 1870s–1880s going “up the trail” to the northern railheads of Dodge City, Abilene, and Ogallala.
Chris has spent most of his adult life in Alaska and has owned and operated a fly-out fishing lodge and has thousands of hours of “bush” flying experience. Chris and his wife Tracy live year-round in a cabin in remote Alaska.
