Kristina Downs

Kristina Downs holds an MA in folklore from George Mason University and a PhD in Folklore from Indiana University. Her dissertation examines the representation of Indigenous heroines in the United States and Mexico with an eye toward colonialism, race, and gender. Her current research examines the use of traditional narrative forms in contemporary crime narratives. She is the creator and host of the podcast Crimelore.
