The child of South Indian immigrants and a self-described book nerd, Sarah Thomas considers herself a student and "try-things-twicer" wherever she goes. It’s an approach that serves her well as the co-founder and Chief Imaginator for Kalamata’s Kitchen. After ten years in the restaurant industry, including six as a sommelier at 3-star Michelin restaurant Le Bernardin, her goal is to bring Kalamata to kids and families all over the world.

Kalamata's Kitchen is paving a new path as a kid’s food adventure brand, inspiring a more curious, courageous, and compassionate generation of eaters. Kalamata’s Kitchen is becoming a global franchise centered around Kalamata, a little girl with South Indian roots, and her stuffed alligator pal Al Dente

The brand has inked partnerships with Imagine Kids+Family to create an animated series and Penguin Random House to produce a new book series. She sees her bold heroine as a chance to break down barriers, helping kids learn about cultures through adventures with food.
