Huaiyu Chen

Huaiyu Chen is a Professor at Arizona State University and a historian of religion whose research bridges Chinese history, religious studies, and animal studies. He has authored numerous publications, including _In the Land of Tigers and Snakes: Living with Animals in Medieval Chinese Religions_ (Columbia University Press, 2023), and most recently _Religious Encounters along the Silk Road: Connections, Competitions, and Comparisons_ (Bloomsbury, 2025).
