Lily is a writer and editor whose work across genres explores interdependence and care within our earth and human communities. She is the author of bestselling memoir-cookbook Kale & Caramel: Recipes for Body, Heart, and Table (Atria / Simon & Schuster), and co-author of What’s Your Story?: A Journal for Everyday Evolution (Sounds True / Macmillan). Her work has been celebrated by the New York Times, Vogue, The Independent, and more, and her writing has been featured in VICE, Women’s Review of Books, the Huffington Post, Bon Appetit, Refinery29, and other publications and print anthologies.

Over the past decade, Lily has cultivated an online community of 75K+ readers, and has spoken, taught, and appeared on tv, at conferences, and at bookstores nationwide, including for Yale University, Jane Goodall's Hope Summit, Summit Impact, American Express, Museum of the African Diaspora, Busboys and Poets, Goop, and many more. Grounding her work in community spaces, she works closely with organizations and local governments to secure food and wellness sovereignty, climate equity, and long-term sustainability. Lily was educated at Yale University and lives in Maui, Hawai‘i, where she grew up. She is now at work on her first novel.
