Skie is a poet, painter, singer, song writer, bass player, boxer, hiker, naturalist, and wildlife educator.

Skie has published 11 creative nonfiction books.

In 2008 she was the Wild Card Winner at The New York Book Festival for her novella, The Knife Beneath My Shirt.

Skie is the co-founder, singer-songwriter and bass player for the art-rock band, The Fire Ants. The Fire Ants have recorded 9 records, and toured the U.S. and Japan.

Skie has exhibited her energetic, emotive paintings throughout the U.S.A. from Los Angeles, California to Brooklyn, New York.
