Nancy Dearborn’s picture book Hugga Loula, released March 2, 2021 with Familius Publishing, is filled with colorful illustrations and the refrain, “If you’re grumpy or sad, frustrated or mad, just give a shout and hug it out!” Hugga Loula is a modern-day hero who offers care, comfort, and love. It reminds us that what really matters in life is each other.

Nancy Dearborn’s picture book I Found a Wallet was released July 2021 with Pen It! Publishing. The main character in I Found a Wallet is faced with four different real-life situations and must decide what he is going to do in each one of them. What is the right thing to do? Do the choices you make in life depend on whether you are by yourself, with an adult, or with your friends? The decisions we make in life reflect our inner character - the person we are deep inside. What type of person do you want to be?
She is an author, speaker, editor, poet, and a former teacher. Nancy has a BSE degree with a major in English. She has taught babies through high school.
Some of her favorite activities include reading to children and sharing her writing experiences and knowledge with others. She is a member of the SCBWI critique group Kids at Heart as well as the CA critique group Write On! She is an active member of the WI southwest regional SCBWI.
