Scott Martin

Scott Martin is the Opposition Analyst for the NWSL's North Carolina Courage and a senior tactical analyst for Total Football Analysis. His experience spans professional, national team, and NCAA soccer programs, as well as years of coaching at the collegiate, high school, and youth competitive levels.

A former philosophy and theology graduate student, Scott combines analytical precision with a deep understanding of mentorship and player development. His work aims to bridge the gap between tactical innovation and the human side of the game—how athletes think, learn, and grow.

He is the author of Revitalizing Real Madrid and co-author of The Soccer Parenting Handbook with UNC-Chapel Hill professor Chris Mumford. Whether writing, analyzing, or coaching, Scott’s focus remains constant: to make soccer smarter, more connected, and more human for every player and parent involved.
