I've had one of those interesting lives, that doesn't fit well into a summary! I've always thought it might be interesting at the end of the story, to be able to look back, and see which of the zig-zags actually worked out after all? I was born in Canada and grew up on a grain farm, where I got to drive tractors, we had motorcycles and snow mobiles, cattle and dogs and cats, it was a great life. As a teenager we moved to the US, and then the call for adventure was sent from a US Navy recruiter, and I never looked back. San Diego for bootcamp, Memphis for aircraft maintenance school, Lemoore for training, China Lake first duty station, San Diego for more training, Guam for second duty station, deployments for West-Pac and Desert Shield / Desert Storm, back to San Diego for my last duty station. I've worked on multiple type aircraft, helicopters and jets, AH-1W, A-4, A-6, A-7, AV-8B, OV-10, F-14, F-18, H-46... medals, awards, experiences, stories, scars, and a tattoo! Countries visited include the Philippines, Japan, Australia, Bali, Thailand, Oman. Since leaving the military, I've moved around a lot, never really got settled in. I've visited most of the Canadian Provinces and Territories, and probably more US States than the average American. I rode a bus through Mexico, with practically zero Spanish, si? Motorcycled the Alaska Highway, Dempster Highway, Top of the World highway. And lived a couple years in a school bus. Recently built a house on some property I managed to buy when I cashed out my Postal retirement money, but its getting hard to sit still. Might be time for another adventure!
