Hello! I am a retired NHS GP, but my books are not about medical subjects. They combine humour with adventure. I try to add tension so that my readers grip the sides of their chairs, but can sleep easy at night time!
The illustrations though not in the book show what is going on in the book and make it more interesting. The illustrations are by fellow author Malcolm Faulk.
My illustration on the right is of Napoleon; he was exiled to St Helena after the battle of Waterloo. He looks disgruntled at being kept in isolation. He is sitting in the bar when the holiday makers arrive. He protests that he is being held, but because he is only there virtually, he disappears in a puff of smoke! The holiday makers find themselves being embroiled in a plot to restore the Czar of Russia. His decoy is there, (his name is Ivan) to gain publicity for the conspiracy. The Russians are there too. Ivan returns to the UK with the other Brits where the story continues.
The second illustration is of a Russian wolfhound. It wins famous Truffles dog show. It is owned by Count Semenov., but has he won by foul means? (These 2 illustrations are not in the book but follow Chs 1 and 2 of the book.)
The third illustration is of Judge Spigot. He has found Count Semenov guilty of embezzlement and bribing the judges in the dog show. The count is deported, but the count has other ideas!
Illustration No 4 shows Malcolm the Magnificent delivering a secret plan to Count Semenov who is in charge of the plot to restore the Czar of Russia. Do you think he will make it?
Illustration No 5 shows the two plotters Colonel Rich and Count Semenov discussing the plans. They intend to helicopter the Czarevich (heir to the Czar) into Russia. He will speak to the citizens who, he hopes, will demand that he is restored. The Czarevich is captured and brought before President Zirinov. What will he do?
Next, finds the plotters back in the UK; their club has been neglected and the numbers of members are down. What can they do?
One problem follows another; a valuable trophy is missing. Is someone selling it on the market, or has the captain just mislaid it?
Now, the club is at odds with the views of the modernists. A riot ensues, and one of the longstanding members, Malcolm the Magnificent, finds himself in gaol
