Joy Semien

Dr. Joy Semien is an award-winning author and presenter. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dillard University (2015) in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, a master’s degree from Texas Southern University (2017) in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy, a ministerial diploma from Ever Increasing Word Training Center (2017) under the leadership of Apostle Leroy Thompson, and a Ph.D. In Urban and Regional Sciences (2024).

She has been a guest educator for national and international organizations. She is known for her authenticity and creativity in delivering interactive training and lectures.

She is the founder of L.E.E.D. With Joy LLC, The K.A.P.S. Disaster Hub, and Leona’s Kings and Queens Non-profit Organization. Through these organizations, Dr. Joy works with researchers, community leaders/members, political officials, and organizational owners to turn research into actionable tools and programs communities can utilize.
