Dawn has taught elementary students in grades 1-5 for the past 36 years. She spent most of her youth on a ranch outside of Reno, Nevada. She participated in the 4-H program for 10 years in livestock, judging, meats i.d., vet science, leadership and sewing clubs. She also spent 13 years in the Nevada Jr. Hereford Association where besides showing cattle she was a state officer. Dawn has led 4-H clubs, as well as, raising a son, Cooper, who participated in the Oregon Jr. Hereford Assn., 4-H and FFA, where he received the American Degree. Dawn has a Bachelors degree in Agriculture and Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She is involved in a couple of history organizations, Farm Bureau, and Agriculture in the Classroom. She received the 2019 Excellence in Teaching Agriculture Award. Her greatest passion is promoting agriculture to our youth. Dawn and her husband, Ron, live in beautiful Central Oregon.
