Terry Nichols

Terry Nichols is a retired National Park Service ranger who left her childhood home in Cincinnati, Ohio to work in parks in the high deserts and canyons of the Southwest. After thirty years of writing trail guides, interpretive brochures, and boring bureaucratic reports as a ranger, she turned to writing for children. Terry is fond of wandering around the world and has published over 100 blogs about her travels. She lives in Aztec, New Mexico, where she continues to write and talk to packrats and lizards every chance she gets. Her debut novel for children, The Dreaded Cliff, won a 2021 Colorado Independent Publishers Association EVVY award in animal/pets/nature fiction, was a finalist in the New Mexico-Arizona 2021 book awards in two categories, and was a finalist in the 2022 New Mexico Press Women's children's fiction awards.
