Mandy Partridge

Mandy Curties Partridge is a Brisbane writer who has lived in Perth and London.

Mandarella Publishing and Productions offers Books, Ebooks, Author Talks, Town Crier shows, and an online Masterclass in Street Performance.

Mandy studied for her BA at the University of Queensland, and her MA at Griffith University. At UQ, Mandy co-edited "Semper Floreat", the student newspaper.

Mandy wrote theatre shows like "Death Wears a Red Nose", "Alice's Excellent Adventure" and "Mistress Mandarella's New Boots".

In 2015, Mandy wrote "Acrobalances", for Hudson Publishing and launched at the National Circus Festival. The Ebook edition of "Acrobalances" is out, paperbacks available by writing to Mandy through her website.

In 2020, Mandy wrote "Long Pork: Behind the Bamboo Curtain: A Political Adventure", following freedom fighters in West Papua. It reached number 1 on Amazon's lists for War and Peace, Political Freedom and Australian and Oceanian Literature.

Mandy's 2021 and 22 books, "Blocked Out", "Kandy Krush" and "Wizz Fizz" are racy crime fiction, set in Brisbane. The final "Mirella Castle Investigates" book will be "Acid Pops". Another upcoming novel is entitled "Murder at the Town Crier Tournament".

Mandy Partridge has spoken in Author Talks at schools, libraries and bookshops, about performing arts, crime fiction and publishing. Mandy has Performer and Public Liability Insurance, a Blue Card to work with Children, and likes to start her talks with an Acknowledgement of Country.

Mandy has been shortlisted for the Scarlet Stiletto Awards, and the Independent Monthly's Australian Writers Awards.

In 2016, Mandy won the official Brisbane Town Crier competition, and has represented her city in Maryborough, NSW Central Coast, Echuca/Moama, Ballarat, Warrnambool and Nova Scotia, Canada. The Brisbane Town Crier has performed at Government house, Parliament House, City Hall, Fort Lytton, Caboolture Historic Village, fetes, fun-runs, building, shop and market openings and Guild events. The Town Crier can write personalised speeches, MC events or "cry the wares".

Following her drama degree, and experience in Australian theatres and circuses, Mandy busked as Mistress Mandarella in London, doing a singing, whip-cracking acrobatic show. In Ephesus Amphitheatre, Turkey, and many other ancient amphitheatres around the Mediterranean, Mandarella performed opera busking, to demonstrate the acoustics of the site.

Mandy now offers an online Masterclass in Street Performing, for school and university graduates who have to performing skills, and want to turn those skills into dollar bills.
