Alejandro Diaz

Alejandro Diaz is a former middle school teacher who began writing full-time when he realized he was telling his students to pursue their dreams but wasn’t following his own. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, his love of writing began in the most unexpected way—writing a story for another student in high school. With no rubric to guide him, Alejandro’s passion for writing blossomed, AND he got paid five dollars for the story/homework assignment!

Alejandro graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in English. He found his interest in reading at his mother’s side, and since then, the right books always seemed to find him when he needed them most. His favorite authors range from Nicholas Sparks to Joel Osteen to R.L. Stine and to Atticus.

When not writing, Alejandro enjoys family time, watching sports, collecting trading cards, and eating tacos. He dreams of walking into bookstores around the world, finding one of his books, and signing it for the next person to pick up.

Above all, Alejandro hopes readers leave his books with joy, words of wisdom, and that “awe” feeling.

His most recent work, Even If, is a children’s book dedicated to his sister and to every parent just beginning to read to their little ones—and to the children just beginning to read on their own.
