Marco Mastrorilli

Born in Milan on December 29, 1967, he is an ornithologist and wildlife photographer specializing in the research and study of nocturnal raptors. For years, he has been dedicated to the conservation of owls, focusing on public awareness, as inspiring the broader audience is key to driving investment in wildlife conservation.

He has authored nearly 500 articles, both popular and scientific, along with photo features for numerous magazines, newspapers, and journals (both in Italy and internationally), with over 700 photographs published worldwide.

A prolific author of books, also translated into French and Spanish, he realized documentaries on nocturnal raptors, the environment, and other animals, he has won multiple literary awards. His scientific research spans Italy and abroad, collaborating with both naturalists and private and public organizations. He regularly speaks at scientific conferences in Italy and across Europe, at specialist courses, and numerous public lectures and presentations. He has contributed to the production of various publications and books in Italy and internationally.

He frequently appears on national television and radio programs in Italy. Among the many events he organizes, the Owl Festival stands out as a major nature-focused event. For years, he has organized and coordinated Italy's European Night of the Owl.

He organizes courses and workshops on owls throughout Italy, offering both group sessions and personalized "tailor-made" experiences.
