I am the Director of Advocating Creativity in Education, a company I set up to explore and promote creative ways of solving the challenges associated with learning and teaching.
After a 33-year teaching career, that ended in 2010 I have sought to understand and promote learning and teaching practices. My experience as a leader in both curriculum and pastoral roles, Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning, Assessment and Monitoring) and research have resulted in the concept of Learning Intelligence and the identification and listing of essential learner engagement needs built into a simple narrative, that of PBCF.
Now an author my book ‘If you can’t reach them you can’t teach them’ describes my learning journey and my experience as a teacher. The aim was to take a journal type approach in order to help others build effective learning relationships whilst understanding and managing learning needs.
I have a blog at @4c3.wordpress.com and a website at www.ace-d.co.uk where you will find many resources and ideas to help you become the best teacher or learner you can be.
For day to day ideas I tweet under the name of @4c3d.
If you are wondering where 4c3d comes from it is ‘leet speak’ for aced, Advocating Creativity in Education.
When I get the chance I enjoy tinkering with motorcycles and cars and have several workshops/sheds to support my passion.
