Cal Smith is a 90-year-old poet, author and book publisher. He served 13 years in the Canadian Air Force, and was a special assistant to the Minister of National Defence. An adventurer, he was one of the first SCUBA divers in British Columbia and wrote a diving column for the Victoria colonist and other daily newspapers across Canada, eventually exploring the entire underwater coastline of the Canadian West Coast.
An expert skier, Cal was the Public Relations manager for Whistler Mountain and resorts in 1967 and was instrumental in it's early development.
He was also an enthusiastic body builder and conducted the 1976 and 1977 Mr. North America contests in Vancouver, with Arnold schwarzenegger as the guest star, and published a body building magazine "Looking Good".
