Pauline E Petsel

Pauline E. (Franks)Petsel was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she married her husband Carl and had two sons. They then moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where their daughter was born. Pauline drove a school bus for over 18 years for a private school, was (and is) a hypnotherapist, was a lifeguard, first aid and swim instructor, and eventually started an in home swim business teaching infants to swim. She wrote the book “Teach Your Tot to Swim” which went all over the United States and other countries. Swim instructors all over the United States used the book to start infant swim classes too, so between that and with parents themselves being able to teach their own children using the book, many lives have been saved. She was active in her church with being a Sunday school teacher as well as youth director. She was also active in her children’s interests with youth football and baseball, cub scouts den mother, and with a baton marching group, and swim team coach. She did some local research on her own about cancers in the area which resulted with research people throughout the U.S. receiving the information. They had an ‘old fashioned Christmas party’ every year for twenty years before moving to Tennessee. Each year they gathered for a potluck supper, went Christmas caroling to trailer parks, nursing homes, and to shut ins before then returning home for ‘cutthroat, take away’ bingo game. When retiring to Greeneville, Tennessee, she did amateur photography and had three, one person showings of her works in a local gallery. She started writing books about her real true experiences in her life which had strange twists and turns to a point that after people who couldn’t believe so much happens to her said,” you should write a book” …so,…she did! In fact, she has written eleven of them so far, about various topics in her life. She has also gotten ‘caught up in odd, weird, and paranormal type situations which she caught on camera while taking regular photos although had not seen anything at the time. Then she ended up becoming an author again…of a UFO type of book; and she isn’t a UFO person. She republished a book she put out fifty years ago teaching people and other instructors around the U.S. and beyond, How to Teach Your Tot to Swim. Her 50th year anniversary book has the same instructions which have continued successfully after all these years. She’s also written several articles for newspapers, magazines (including a premier issue of a Special Living magazine), a children’s hospital booklet, and was in an issue of Iowa magazine.
