Jane Fraser

Jane Fraser is an award-winning fiction writer, based in the Gower peninsula, south Wales. She is the author of two novels: 'Advent' (HONNO 2021) which won the Society of Authors' Paul Torday Memorial Prize for a debut novel in English in 2022, and 'Weights and Measures' (WATERMARK PRESS 2025) as well as two collections of short stories, 'The South Westerlies' (SALT 2019) and 'Connective Tissue' (SALT 2022). Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 as part of its 'Short Works' series, and has figured highly in major international competitions such as Manchester Fiction Prize, ABR Jolley Prize, Bath Short Story Prize and the Rhys Davies Short Story Prize. She is a Hay Festival Writer at Work, has a PhD in Creative Writing from Swansea University, and is wife to Philip and grandmother to Meg, Flo and Alice.
