Mary E. Sweeney

Growing up on the Jersey Shore turned me into a baby tidepooler who was examining fishes & invertebrates while still in diapers. Before I started school, I had an aquarium. I still have aquaria, and that was long ago. In 1987, my hobby went pro when I signed on as an Editor at T.F.H. Publications, working on the flagship magazine, Tropical Fish Hobbyist. Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod was both boss and mentor, and we enjoyed an excellent working relationship for many years. In 2001, I joined Reef to Rainforest Publishing, as Senior Editor, and enjoyed working with James Lawrence and his staff on Amazonas Magazine. In 2019, I joined the ranks at Resources Real Estate, Atlantic Highlands, NJ, as a Realtor. Houses are much like aquaria; they are boxes that nurture, sustain, and protect life...and that's what I'm all about.
