Elli is a quilt maker with a passion for sustainable making. A keen stitcher since her dad taught her to use a sewing machine as a child, she discovered quilt making nine years ago. What started as hobby to counteract the hours spent at the computer writing a PhD thesis soon became a full time passion. In 2017 she started Wholecloth Studio, producing one of a kind quilts, homewares and accessories made from high quality repurposed and waste textiles, sometimes dyed with plants. Her work has been featured in Mollie Makes, Curated Quilts, Selvedge Magazine Blog and No Serial Number. In June 2020 she moved aboard the 44ft catamaran Cinnamon with her husband and three children and they are currently sailing the Mediterranean and beyond. She continues to dye with foraged plants, stitch quilts and share her work from her very compact floating "studio" (also known as the guest cabin)!
