sSsR8M is the original creative identity of author and illustrator Jose Vargas‑Pacas. Under this name, he released the first Bear & Lion children’s books—created with story, characters, and artwork by Vargas‑Pacas, with early digital editing support from his brother, Matthew Vargas‑Pacas. During this period, sSsR8M represented his entire creative output, including the foundational Scratch Paper Comics series.

As his work expanded, Vargas‑Pacas began publishing new projects under his own name, but this page remains the home of the original sSsR8M releases—from the first Bear & Lion stories to the early Scratch Paper Comics issues.
