Leigh Hodgkinson

Leigh Hodgkinson is an author and illustrator. She also is an animation director, designer and kids tv creator.

She was born in Rhodesia and emigrated to the UK when she was a child and grew up in Hampshire.  

She studied graphic design at the University of Humberside and then specialised in Animation Direction at the National Film and Television School.

Leigh worked in animation for a while making short film/tv/adverts and then as art director for kids tv show “Charlie and Lola”. It was after this her journey into making picture books began.

Leigh has made oodles of books for children and has worked with Orchard, Nosy Crow, Bloomsbury, Simon & Schuster, Egmont and Oxford University Press. Her books have been published all around the world.

She is designer and co-creator of  Cbeebies animated show “Olobob Top”.

Leigh has a fizzy brain and is rubbish at relaxing. Because of this fact she is always drawing/writing/making/designing/baking.

Leigh lives in East Sussex with her husband and children.
