David Glarner

Born at the midpoint of the 20th Century, I have seen the world continue to accelerate each decade to the point that many of us 'Boomers' have been thrown out of the orbit altogether. I have managed to cling on to the margins of social media without having been totally absorbed nor cast aside. I live pretty much off the grid without cell service but I have managed to acquire fiber optic high speed internet.

"Vietnam 1971, Letters . . ." is my first book. I wrote it in part because I heard many people complaining about the terrible inconvenience of having to stay at home for a year during the COVID pandemic, or having to wear a mask when in public. This book describes a similar experience of having to put ones life on hold for a year. The difference is that in the situation of this narrative, everyone else continued with life as usual while the few of us selected were put on hold for two years. The pandemic will fade away, unfortunately many, many of us will not survive it. For those who do survive, you will experience the patience we survivors of war were forced to endure

Interests? I love sailboats and have owned several, but live in the mountains. I enjoy playing guitar, but haven't been in a band since the sixties.
