Having never read a book until I wrote my first novel The Swing at the age of 50. I was never planning to be a writer. With severe dyslexia and a fear of words and literature, I embarked on a career working with trees to avoid reading and writing.

My working class background and lack of self-worth kept any thoughts of creativity at bay.

But enough was enough and I decided to face my greatest fear head on. Now I write from my heart. Not influenced by anyone else, I write about empowerment, hope, courage and worthiness and hope my stories will help inspire others to break free from their shackles and realise their own self-worth.
