Maya K. Peterson

Maya K. Peterson writes about the history of the environment, science, technology, and medicine, with a focus on the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. Her first book, "Pipe Dreams: Water and Empire in Central Asia’s Aral Sea Basin," published in the Studies in Environment and History series at Cambridge University Press in 2019, was a finalist for the Central Eurasian Studies Society's 2020 Book Award in History and the Humanities.
