Shannon David Hamons

SHANNON DAVID HAMONS is from the small Ohio town of Plymouth. His first book, 'Releasing Trophies', draws upon many of his experiences in the rural Midwest and work as a newspaper reporter and general manager. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in northwest Ohio and attended graduate classes at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He particularly admires the work of John Steinbeck and Larry McMurtry. He said, "Steinbeck's work speaks for itself, but sometimes you just need a book like McMurtry's Lonesome Dove in your life". Hamons is currently working on his second book, a collection of humorous and sometimes poignant stories about his childhood jobs. He now lives in southwest Ohio near Cincinnati.
