Rhyming books played an important role in teaching early literacy skills, at my family daycare center, even social and emotional development occurred when the children had a bonding experience with a rhyming book.

Memorizing and reciting rhymes encouraged self-expression and built confidence. My rhyming madness empowered an initial excitement to learn to read, I learned that exposing the children to rhyming books, created a love for reading that would last a lifetime, my rhyming madness had the children hooked.

Rhyming improved their memory and cognitive development; rhyming was my magic trick.

I’ve always loved to rhyme words, for me personally, it helps me to remember things, for me rhyming allows details to stick.

Rhyming might seem a little silly, or even like a waste of time, however research

proves rhyming is a powerful teaching tool and a wonderful blessing, and dream

come true, to write these books for the children in my family day care class.

Rhyming helped the children to segment words into phonemes, improved

their coding and comprehension abilities, but for me the best part was as they learned to read, they had a blast!
