Vito Viceconti has been teaching technology in middle schools for 42 years. His great passions are writing, painting and computer science. The passion for writing, his maxim, has always been there, but until a few years ago he wrote only for himself. The turning point came when a close friend of his strongly encouraged him to publish his stories, after occasionally reading some of them. To have the maximum freedom of expression, he founded his own publishing house, Io Libro Edizioni, with which he publishes his works and those of other carefully selected authors. So far he has written a collection of short stories ("The cell and other stories"), in which he observes today's society with disenchantment and irony; a science fiction book that tackles the problems of artificial intelligence ("Waiting for the August new moon"), translated also into English; and began writing a series of short stories featuring an old retired teacher who is a private detective as a hobby and calls himself Il Prisco, which means 'very old'. As a painter, however, he painted under the pseudonym of Ekthambos in his Studio and Art Gallery "Antica Officina", an old disused factory that he restored and transformed into a place of art, in Illasi, in the province of Verona.
