Kristin Thielemann

Kristin Thielemann studied trumpet and music education at the Luebeck Academy of Music and was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Foundation and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. While still a student, she was under contract as a trumpet player in the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Since 2009, she has been working for the publishing house Schott Music, where she has written many articles for professional journals such as ueben & musizieren, but also published editions of sheet music for music education.

Her guidebook "Every Child is Musical" (Schott Music 2016) has been translated into Chinese and "Voll motiviert! Erfolgsrezepte für Ihren Unterricht" (Schott Music 2019) is one of the best-selling publications in practical music education. The two follow-up volumes are called "Ganz schön wild!" (2021) and "Digital jetzt!" (2022) and are also about music education.

Kristin Thielemann is a guest lecturer at colleges and universities, holds continuing education courses for music educators, and lectures to parents. During the Corona Crisis lockdown, her podcast on online music education, reached five-figure listenership within a few weeks. She now hosts the podcast "Voll motiviert" in collaboration with Schott Music.

As a juror, she is active in music competitions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
