HLR (she/her) is a prize-winning working-class poet and professional editor from North London, U.K.
She is the author of HISTORY OF PRESENT COMPLAINT (Close To The Bone, 2021), EX-CETERA (Nine Pens, 2023) and PORTRAIT OF THE POET AS A HOT MESS (Ghost City Press, 2021).
HLR is a commended winner of the National Poetry Competition 2021, won the Desmond O'Grady International Poetry Competition 2021 and was a winner of the Cambridge Prize for Flash Fiction in 2020. Her poetry was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize 2023 and the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award 2024, and longlisted in the Plough Prize and Mslexia Poetry Competition 2022.
