Kamarlo "Marlo Da Motivator" Spooner is an American author, motivational speaker, labor leader, curriculum developer, and community advocate. As a six-time published author, he is dedicated to inspiring personal growth, resilience, and purpose in people from all walks of life. In 2026, he was honored by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for his leadership in the grassroots community effort that led to Juneteenth becoming an officially recognized paid holiday in Alameda County.

Drawing from lived experiences that include overcoming childhood trauma, educational struggles, and incarceration, Kamarlo transformed his life through faith, education, and community service. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to earn six associate degrees and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from California State University, East Bay. He is also one semester away from completing his Master of Public Administration degree.

As Marlo Da Motivator, Kamarlo speaks in schools, colleges and universities, correctional facilities, community organizations, businesses, and labor spaces throughout California. His message focuses on resilience, accountability, education, financial literacy, and the belief that a person's past does not have to define their future.
