I am a Y9 (2021) day boy student at The Kings School, North Parramatta, N.S.W. Australia. This is my first book as an author/illustrator and I look forward to publishing more in the coming years. My school is home to many boarding students from remote areas of Australia. The story of Pango the penguin began as an English class formative project in year 7. Starting life at a boarding school, away for parents and home, can be a daunting and stressful time for new students. The book is a reflection of my own experiences and feelings through the antics of the loveable Pango. There has been pleasure and satisfaction in setting these thoughts and experiences down in words and illustrations for you. The book is now being used as a template by school teachers to inspire other like-minded students on their journey into literacy, illustration and publishing. It is a simple yet engaging story suitable for even the youngest learner readers. I am 14 years old and like science fiction such as Dr Who, Lost in Space and more.
