Michael Daugherty

Michael Daugherty has written about paddling on his long-running blog Sea Kayak Stonington, as well as in articles in Sea Kayaker, Ocean Paddler, AMC Outdoors, Canoe & Kayak, Adventure Kayak, Small Boats Monthly and Zest Maine. He’s the author of the guidebook, AMC’s Best Sea Kayaking in New England.

In a previous century, Michael earned an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Iowa, where he was a Teaching-Writing Fellow. Until 2014, he was the proprietor of Isalos Fine Art, in Stonington, Maine, and now guides and teaches sea kayaking on the Maine coast, under the auspices of Sea Kayak Stonington, where has also returned to his role as a shopkeeper.
