Bruce Hanson

Bruce Hanson lived the strife and turmoil in America during the three year period depicted in Nam. He was a student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then lived in Washington D.C.

His experiences during that time ranged from working for the Department of Defense to participating in the evolution of the Civil Rights movement to organizing massive and historic anti-war protests in Washington.

Although the characters in Nam are fictional, Bruce came to know many veterans returning from the Vietnam War, as well as draft resisters, students, and activists from the Black Panther Party and Chicago 7. Most left him with vivid memories of how the events of 1968 through 1970 impacted their lives and transformed America.

Bruce has lived on and operated a cattle ranch in Kansas for the past 30 years.
