I rose from the tones of the ‘Show Me State’ artistically driven and motivated to create fictional writing. Unapologetically influenced by both positive and negative insights, I sought an identity of my own.
Thus, I passionately believe in the power of words rendering constricted freedoms or stifling dreams.
Therefore, within me, an emancipated voice of confidence was born out of life’s, sometimes perilous, quarantines.
Under the guidance of a troubled mother, my developing years nearly cradled more than I could bear; yet, I had wonderful childhood experiences with my Grandma Lolo, many aunts and uncles, siblings, and tight-knit friends. I loved to run and play, but oftentimes, I just had to run.
Life renders this thing called "Free-Will" at a cost. We’re given much, thus, a lot is expected of us, rather from the sacks of the underprivileged, or from the limitlessness of the wealthy. There’s an open moral debt waiting to be paid.
Therefore, when tired and fresh air is needed, don’t stick your head in a commode. In other words, face self, face fears, and face life’s relentlessness. Never look down in pity, rather reach higher than yourself for inspirations.
I look to the refreshing newness of what’s happening now. However, sometimes I considerately reflect on the intensity of the past that which blessed me to be who I am today.
“As My Fate Would Have Me” was inspired by the fullness of life’s ups and downs, hurts and new loves, coping with intolerable depression and spontaneous celebrations. My novel was written as a beacon of optimism. It is a heartfelt work of fiction yet centered in life’s immeasurable distortions.
