Nan Arkwright

In third grade, Nan knew she would work with children. As a pediatric occupational therapist and other work with children over the past 50 years, she has learned a lot about supporting children's mental health. She wrote these books so kids and parents could share stories about regulating emotions and so parents can help children when they feel that stopping when asked, accepting “no” for an answer, listening, and doing something they don’t want to do is just “too much”. Using the hero’s journey concept from the book, adults can help children understand their own journey and how to become agents of positive change for themselves. Encourage the child in your life by going to Nan's website to view all the books and to access her FREE videos and resources for adults and engaging activities for kids that relate to the books.

To develop emotional, psychological and social well-being, Nan, an award-winning and #1 best-selling author, wants her 17 books to help children relate to the experiences of the book characters, who must solve everyday problems that come up at home and school, and see themselves as capable of being like those characters when they face similar challenges.
